Meditation has been used for thousands of years as a daily practice to balance the mind and body. Mindfulness Meditation is a simple and effective form of meditation that involves sitting and following ones breathe.
Recent research has shown Mindfulness Meditation to be an invaluable tool in promoting self awareness and stability of mind, in helping people to cope with problematic thoughts and in reducing stress, anxiety and depression.
In this introductory course the instructor will introduce participants to the core elements of Mindfulness Meditation in a practical and down to earth fashion. The health, emotional and psychological benefits of Mindfulness Meditation will also be discussed. The course will involve extensive practice of Mindfulness Meditation and support participants to establish their own personal practice. This will also involve small and large group discussion of participants’ personal experiences of meditating to foster further learning.
