Dean has been working in the health care industry for
fifteen years and brings his diverse range of experience and
skills to his work. His initial training was in psychology
however quickly realised that working with people holistically
would be a more effective way of working. Thus he has completed
various trainings in psychology, massage therapy, herbal medicine,
hypnosis, gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy and martial
arts (a summary of these are below). His work experience includes
working in the addiction area, mental health, public sector,
and now in private practice. His areas of expertise include:

Julie Atkinson
Julie has over 2 decades of experience in
Complimentary Medicine in recent years exploring the combined
use of yoga relaxation techniques and massage therapy in
the treatment of stress. She is passionate about helping
others regain health, Well-being and peace of mind & offers
therapies to help relax, renew energy or life force & bring
balance to a busy & stressful life style.
Julie is a Shiatsu Practitioner, Massage Therapist & accredited
Yoga Instructor.
She has worked within numerous settings including Yoga Studios,
Healing Centres, Community & Leisure centres, Schools
and Kindergarten and the Corporate Sector, enabling her to
work with many different groups of people with diverse needs,
including older and not-so-fit adults, pregnant women, the
intellectually disabled, ESL groups and children. This has
included teaching Yoga to the Wives Group at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, Boston & introducing Yoga to
the small community of Katherine in the Northern Territory.
Julie has studied many forms of Yoga including traditional
Hatha Yoga & Oki Do Yoga with its origins in Japan. During
the Eighties & Nineties she studied & taught at the
Carlton Oki Do Yoga Centre under the guidance of its founder
the late Takao Nakazawa.
Julie is a graduate of the Australian Shiatsu College, Brunswick & the
Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy & a full practicing
member of the Shiatsu Therapist Association Australia (STAA),
the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT) & the
International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA).
Jenny Bravin
Jenny has been a registered psychologist since
1998. She has undergone advance training at the post graduate
level at La Trobe University to specialise in the assessment
and care of people with brain injuries. She is also a registered
supervisor of psychologists.
Jenny has worked predominantly in rehabilitation hospital
settings as a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist, working
with people with neurological conditions and their families.
This has involved conducting neuropsycholgical assessments,
providing education regarding the cognitive and behavioural
consequences of injuries or illnesses, rehabilitation (management
strategies for cognitive difficulties and behavioural interventions),
as well as psychological therapy. Jenny has had many years
of experience assisting people to overcome and manage grief
and adjustment, particularly with regards to illness or injury,
anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression.
In her clinical practice she uses a client centred approach
incorporating cognitive behavioural therapy, solution oriented
therapy, and mindfulness based therapy.
Jenny has a special interest in the promotion of health
and well-being. Complementing her work within a hospital
setting, she looks forward to working at a centre that values
and seeks to work holistically with the individual. She practices
yoga and meditation regularly.
